PLGA Acid Capped (PLGA-COOH, 75:25) MW 20K is a high-molecular-weight carboxyl-terminated poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) random copolymer with a lactide:glycolide molar ratio of 75:25. Boasting longer polymer chains than 15K and lower molecular weight counterparts, this PLGA exhibits outstanding mechanical toughness, outstanding film-forming and electrospinnable properties, together with the slowest degradation rate within this 75:25 acid-capped series. Reactive terminal carboxylic acid groups allow efficient EDC/NHS mediated bioconjugation with amine-containing peptides, antibodies and targeting ligands to construct functionalized biomaterial carriers. The compact polymer matrix greatly mitigates burst drug release and enables consistent, multi-month prolonged drug release profiles. It is widely applied in high-performance microspheres, implantable sustained-release depots, electrospun tissue engineering scaffolds and rigid biodegradable biomaterial substrates. Fully biocompatible, it degrades into non-toxic lactic acid and glycolic acid in vivo. Supplied as white amorphous powder.
