PLGA Acid Capped (PLGA-COOH, 75:25) MW 160K is ultra-high-molecular-weight carboxyl-terminated poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) random copolymer with a 75:25 lactide-to-glycolide molar ratio. Possessing significantly longer polymer chains and greater chain entanglement compared to MW 80K and lower molecular weight grades, this PLGA delivers exceptional tensile strength, superior viscoelastic properties and excellent melt-spinning and electrospinning capability. It features the slowest degradation kinetics in the 75:25 acid-capped PLGA series. Reactive terminal carboxylic acid groups enable reliable EDC/NHS-mediated bioconjugation with amine-containing peptides, antibodies and targeting ligands to fabricate functional biodegradable biomaterials. Its densely entangled polymer matrix maintains structural integrity over an extended timeframe and drastically suppresses initial burst release, supporting ultra-long sustained drug delivery. This polymer is ideal for fabricating high-performance load-bearing electrospun scaffolds, rigid implantable constructs, thick biodegradable barrier membranes and three-dimensional tissue engineering frameworks for advanced regenerative medicine research. Fully biocompatible, it degrades safely into non-toxic lactic acid and glycolic acid in vivo.
