8-arm-PLGA-OH, MW 10K is an eight-arm star-shaped biodegradable polyester with terminal hydroxyl groups. Synthesized based on a central polyol core, this multi-branched structure provides multiple terminal hydroxyl reactive sites compared with linear PLGA. The polymer possesses excellent biocompatibility and tunable degradation performance. Terminal hydroxyl (-OH) can be used as initiation sites for further chemical derivatization, including esterification, ring-opening polymerization and terminal functional group modification. It is widely adopted as a starting precursor for synthesizing functionalized PLGA derivatives, nanoparticle preparation, hydrogel fabrication and biodegradable drug delivery carrier research.
