8-Arm PLGA-NHS, MW 20K is an eight-arm star-shaped biodegradable polyester bearing activated N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester groups at each arm terminus. Built upon a central polyol core, the multi-branched structure delivers higher density of reactive NHS ester moieties relative to linear PLGA. The polymer features excellent biocompatibility and tunable degradation kinetics. Terminal NHS esters readily react with primary amines under mild aqueous environments to form stable amide linkages, facilitating efficient bioconjugation with amine-containing peptides, proteins and small-molecule biomolecules. It is extensively utilized in nanoparticle synthesis, biomolecule functionalization, hydrogel crosslinking and targeted drug delivery research.
