8-Arm PLGA-NHS, MW 10K is an eight-arm star-shaped biodegradable polyester with activated N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester groups at each arm terminus. Constructed based on a central polyol core, this multi-branched architecture provides a high density of reactive NHS ester groups compared to linear PLGA. The polymer exhibits favorable biocompatibility and controllable degradation behavior. Terminal NHS esters can rapidly react with primary amines under mild aqueous conditions to form stable amide bonds, enabling efficient bioconjugation with amine-containing peptides, proteins and small-molecule biomolecules. It is widely applied in nanoparticle fabrication, biomolecule modification, hydrogel crosslinking and targeted drug delivery research.
