8-Arm PLGA-SH, MW 10K is an eight-arm star-shaped biodegradable polyester with thiol groups functionalized at each arm terminus. Built on a central polyol core, its multi-branched architecture delivers higher reactive group density than linear PLGA. The polymer exhibits excellent biocompatibility and tunable degradation performance. Terminal thiol (-SH) groups can participate in thiol-maleimide click reactions, thiol-ene polymerization, and disulfide bond formation, enabling conjugation with maleimide-modified biomolecules, gold nanoparticles and other thiol-reactive moieties. It is widely used in nanoparticle fabrication, bioligand modification, crosslinkable hydrogel construction and stimuli-responsive drug delivery research.
