8-Arm PLGA-NH₂, MW 20K is an eight-arm star-shaped biodegradable polyester functionalized with primary amine groups at each arm terminus. Constructed on a central polyol core, the multi-branched structure provides a higher density of reactive amino groups compared with linear PLGA. The polymer possesses outstanding biocompatibility and adjustable degradation profiles. Terminal amino groups can participate in amide coupling reactions with carboxyl-bearing compounds or form Schiff base bonds with aldehyde-modified biomolecules.
