8-Arm PLGA-NH₂, MW 40K is a high-molecular-weight eight-arm star-shaped biodegradable polyester with primary amine groups conjugated at each arm terminus. Built on a central polyol core, the multi-branched scaffold offers a higher density of reactive amino groups than linear PLGA. The material features excellent biocompatibility and tunable degradation rates. Terminal primary amines can perform amide coupling with carboxyl-containing molecules and form Schiff base linkages with aldehyde-functionalized biomolecules. It is widely used in long-acting nanoparticle preparation, bioconjugation, hydrogel crosslinking and sustained targeted drug delivery research.
