PLGA Acid Capped (PLGA-COOH, 50:50), MW 2K is carboxyl-terminated poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) with 50 mol% D,L-lactide and 50 mol% glycolide. The polymer features reactive terminal carboxylic acid groups for bioconjugation with amine-containing drugs, peptides and biomacromolecules. With low molecular weight of 2000 Da, this 50:50 PLGA exhibits rapid hydrolytic degradation in aqueous environments. It dissolves in common organic solvents including dichloromethane, THF and acetone, while insoluble in water. The material is biocompatible and biodegradable into lactic acid and glycolic acid, ideal for preparing functionalized PLGA nanoparticles, microspheres and polymer-drug conjugates for short-term controlled release research. Store sealed at -20°C under dry and dark conditions to prevent hydrolysis.
