PLGA Acid Capped, MW 10K is carboxyl-terminated poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) equipped with reactive terminal carboxylic acid groups. The active -COOH ends enable covalent bioconjugation with amine-containing peptides, small-molecule therapeutics and biomacromolecules. With a molecular weight of 10,000 Da, this polymer features a moderate degradation rate slower than 5K and 2K acid-capped PLGA variants. It is soluble in dichloromethane, THF, acetone and ethyl acetate, while insoluble in water. The material is biocompatible and gradually degrades into endogenous lactic acid and glycolic acid in vivo. It is commonly utilized to fabricate functionalized PLGA nanoparticles, microspheres, and polymer-drug conjugates for medium-term sustained release research. Seal and store at -20°C in dry and dark conditions to prevent hydrolytic degradation caused by moisture.
