8-Arm PLGA-NHS, MW 40K is a high-molecular-weight eight-arm star-shaped biodegradable polyester modified with activated N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester groups at each arm terminus. Constructed on a central polyol core, this multi-branched scaffold provides a higher density of reactive NHS ester groups compared with linear PLGA. The polymer possesses excellent biocompatibility and adjustable degradation profiles. Terminal NHS esters can rapidly react with primary amines under mild aqueous conditions to form stable amide bonds, enabling efficient bioconjugation with amine-bearing peptides, proteins and small-molecule therapeutics. It is widely applied in sustained-release nanoparticle preparation, biomolecule modification, hydrogel crosslinking and long-acting targeted drug delivery research.
