Ald-Ph-PEG4-acid linker contains a benzaldehyde moiety and a terminal carboxylic acid group. The benzaldehyde group readily reacts with primary amines, aminooxy and hydrazide. The terminal carboxylic acid can undergo reactions with primary and secondary amines in the presence of EDC , HATU and DCC to form a stable amide bond. The PEG spacer increases the solubility of the compound in aqueous media.
