8-Arm PLGA-N₃, MW 20K is an eight-arm star-shaped biodegradable polyester functionalized with azide groups at each arm terminus. Built on a central polyol core, the multi-branched architecture provides higher reactive group density compared with linear PLGA. The polymer features outstanding biocompatibility and tunable degradation behavior. Terminal azide groups can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) click reactions to conjugate alkyne-modified small molecules, peptides and biomacromolecules. It is extensively utilized in nanoparticle synthesis, bioconjugation, hydrogel crosslinking and targeted drug delivery research.
