Cy3 alkynes have absorption and emission spectra nearly identical to Alexa Fluor® 555, CF® 555 dyes, or any other Cyanine3-based fluorescent dye. It can react with azides via the copper-catalyzed click reaction (CuAAC) to form stable triazoles and does not require high temperatures. This red fluorescent probe is water-soluble and its fluorescence is pH-insensitive in the pH 4 to pH 10 range. Its excitation peak is well suited for 532 nm or 555 nm laser lines.
