Aldehyde is reactive toward hydrazide and aminooxy groups which are commonly used in biomolecular probes for labeling and crosslinking carbonyls. The azide group can react with alkynes, DBCO and BCN through Click Chemistry reactions. The hydrophilic PEG linker can increase the solubility of the compound in aqueous media.
