LPC(16:0/0:0) CAS:17364-16-8 is a phospholipase-mediated hydrolysis of phosphorylcholine with a saturated fatty acid called palmitic acid (16:0) as the tail. It is a monoglycerophospholipid in which the phosphorylcholine moiety occupies the glycerol substitution site. Lysophosphatidylcholines can have different combinations of fatty acids of different lengths and saturations at the C-1 (sn-1) position. Fatty acids with 16, 18 and 20 carbons are the most common.
