amino peg acid

Amino PEG acid, also named as amine PEG acid, is a class of crosslinkers that has an amino group on one end of the PEG spacer and an acid on the other.

Peg amine acid readily reacts with biomolecules with activated esters, such as NHS ester, PFP ester and TFP ester, to form pegylated biomolecules with a PEG elongated acid functional group. The acid can be further derivatized by coupling reactions with other biomolecules with amine functional groups.

The amino group can be also selectively protected to form Boc and Fmoc amino acid. The resulting crosslinker can be used for bioconjucation in a inverse order – acid coupling, de-protection of amine and amine coupling.
