TR-X-carboxylic acid, 5-isomer (CAS 199745-67-0), is a sulfonated analog of ROX dye, sharing similar spectral properties with red emission. It features an aminohexanoic acid linker that creates space between the fluorophore and the biomolecule, preventing unwanted interactions.
This non-reactive form of TR dye serves as a reference standard in experiments involving TR dye conjugates. The carboxylic group can also be activated by carbodiimides like EDAC, enabling reactions with hydrazines, hydroxylamines, and amines.
