Sulfo-NHS-SS-biotin is a cleavable reagent useful for introducing a biotin moiety to amine containging proteins and cell surfaces. This biotin linker is membrane-impermeable due to its negatively charged, water soluble sulfonate group. The disulfide bond in this linker can be cleaved using reducing agents such as DTT, BME and TCEP.
