SS-PEG-SS (PEG-bis-Succinimidyl Succinate) is a homobifunctional cross-linking PEG reagent that reacts with amine groups, and the coupling reaction between NHS and amines generates new stable amide bonds. Highly reactive with amines at physiological pH, resulting in stable amide bonds. There is a C2 aliphatic ester bond between the PEG and the NHS ester.
