Biotin-PEG-SCM (Biotin-PEG-succinimidyl carboymethylester), is a linear heterobifunctional PEG reagent containing biotin and succinimidyl NHS ester. Often used as a cross-linking agent or as a spacer between two different chemical entities. Biotin binds to avidin and streptavidin with high specificity and affinity. SCM stands for succinimidyl carboxymethyl ester, which can easily react with primary amines such as lysine.
