AC-PEG-Silane (Acrylate-PEG-Silane) is a linear heterobifunctional PEG reagent, which contains acrylate at one end and silane at the other end. The silane group can be coupled for surface modification. Acrylate can be combined with UV light or free PEG-based initiators polymerize to form PEG hydrogels, and the hydrophilic PEG linker increases the water solubility of the compound. Longer PEG chains enhance the water solubility of the PEG linker.
