5-ROX (5-Carboxy-X-Rhodamine) is a rhodamine dye that exhibits strong fluorescence properties in aqueous buffers. 5-ROX, 6-ROX and their mixtures 5(6)-ROX are used to label biomolecules by EDC-mediated reactions. The spectrum of this dye conjugate is longer than that of the Lisaamine™ Rhodamine B conjugate, but slightly shorter than that of the Texas Red™ conjugate.
