N,N-Bis(PEG2-azide)-N-Boc is a trifunctional linker that contains a terminal azide group, Boc protected amino group, and a terminal carboxylic acid. The azide group undergoes Click Chemistry with alkyne-tagged biomolecules and the terminal carboxylic acid can be reacted with primary and secondary amino groups in the presence of EDC, DCC or HATAU coupling reagents to form a stable amide bond. The protected amine can be deprotected under mild acidic conditions and the resulting secondary amie can further conjugate with a third molecule of interest.
