DOPE-PEG-Amine, MW 3.4K (DOPE-PEG-NH2, MW 3.4K) is a linear heterobifunctional polyethylene glycol containing unsaturated DOPE phospholipids and amines. It modifies liposome surfaces with biomolecules containing amine reactive groups (NHS, thiolates). Amine groups for bioconjugation are also available. It can be used to prepare nanoparticles or liposomes for targeted drug delivery applications. Lipid bilayers can improve drug solubility, PEGs can provide stealth properties, prolong circulatory half-life and reduce nonspecific protein binding or cell adhesion, and amine groups can be used to bioconjugate targeting molecules, including antibodies, aptamers, proteins, and peptides.
