Cy7 DBCO (Cyanine7 DBCO) is a bright, photostable near-IR dye, specifically designed for minimal non-specific binding and exceptional brightness. Spectrally similar to Alexa Fluor® 750, DyLight® 750, and IRDye® 750, it is highly versatile and water-soluble. Therefore, it is ideal for applications like in vivo imaging, flow cytometry, and fluorescence microscopy. With excitation at ~750 nm and emission at ~773 nm, it provides stable fluorescence from pH 4 to 10, reducing autofluorescence and improving imaging clarity.
Unlike traditional fluorescent dyes, Cy7 DBCO reacts with azides using copper-free click chemistry, forming stable triazoles without the need for copper or elevated temperatures. As a result, it is an excellent choice for copper-sensitive environments. However, due to the potential for high background, it is not recommended for staining intracellular components in fixed and permeabilized cells.
