BDP TMR is a type of borondipyrromethene dye that functions as an alternative to the BODIPY® TMR for the TAMRA channel. It distinguishes itself with a significantly higher fluorescence brightness compared to TAMRA. Given its relatively prolonged excited state lifespan, this fluorophore is an excellent selection for fluorescence anisotropy assessments.
This variant comes as an NHS ester that reacts with amines, featuring an aminohexanoic acid (C6) linker bridging the dye and the functional group. The dye is compatible for the purpose of labeling proteins, peptides, and other amine-containing molecules.
