Axispharm’s high-purity 3,4-Dibromo-Mal-PEG4-Amine is a hydrophilic PEG material containing one dibromomaleimide group and one Boc-protected amine group. Dibromomaleimide (DBM) allows two points of attachment because each bromine can be replaced by a thiol to form two thioether bonds. The mild nature and selectivity of the DBM reaction allow the efficient use of sensitive biomolecular reagents. The Boc protecting group can be removed under acidic conditions and allow further reaction of the amine with other species. Hydrophilic PEG linkers can increase the water solubility of compounds in aqueous media.
