AF488 is a sulfonated rhodamine with an absorption maximum at 495 nm and an emission maximum at 519 nm, a bright, photostable and hydrophilic fluorophore that emits in the green channel. AF488 DBCO allows fluorescent labeling of azide-containing biomolecules in living cells, whole organisms, and inanimate samples.
