Mal-PEG-Mal, MW 7.5K is a PEG-based crosslinker containing thiol-reactive functional groups. Mal-PEG-Mal, MW 7.5K undergoes thiol pegylation with thiol-containing molecules at pH 5.0-6.5. Mal-PEG-Mal, a homobifunctional PEG derivative of MW 7.5K, can be used as a crosslinker for PEGylation of proteins and peptides, nanoparticles, and surface modification. Conjugation of homobifunctional PEG increased drug loading compared to PEGylation using linear PEG.
