The methylamine can undergo amide coupling with carboxylic acid and activated acid ester to form amide bond. It can also react with carbonyl groups such as ketone and aldehyde by reductive amination to form stable C-N bond. The acid functional group can either undergo bioconjugation with an amine bearing biomolecules or be derivatized to active ester.
