JOE NHS ester, 5-isomer is a fluorescein-derived xanthene dye containing methoxy and chlorine atoms. Its absorption and emission spectra are between the FAM and TAMRA/ROX channels. For this reason, such fluorophores are commonly used in multiplex detection, including DNA sequencing.
