HyNic NHS ester (6-Hydrazinonicotinic acid, succinimidyl ester) is a highly reactive heterobifunctional linker widely used in bioconjugation and carbonyl labeling applications. The N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester group reacts efficiently with primary amines on proteins (via lysine residues), amino-modified oligonucleotides, or functionalized surfaces, forming stable covalent bonds under mild conditions that preserve biomolecule activity.
After the initial amine coupling, the HyNic hydrazine moiety remains available to form hydrazone bonds with aldehyde- or ketone-containing compounds. This unique reactivity enables site-specific labeling of biomolecules, such as antibodies, peptides, enzymes, or nucleic acids.
Typical applications include protein–DNA conjugation, synthesis of antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs), sensor chip functionalization, and modification of biocompatible materials for research, diagnostics, and nanotechnology.
Each batch of HyNic NHS ester is manufactured with high purity and undergoes rigorous quality control to ensure reproducibility in both small- and large-scale R&D projects.
