Cy5 Azide is a far-red fluorescent dye with absorption and emission spectra nearly identical to Alexa Fluor® 647, CF® 647 Dye, and other Cyanine5-based fluorescent dyes. It features an azide group that reacts with terminal alkynes through a copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction, enabling efficient biomolecule labeling. It also performs copper-free “click chemistry” with strained cyclooctynes, forming stable triazoles without requiring copper catalysts or high temperatures.
