BAM7 is a direct selective activator of pro-apoptotic BAX with IC50 of 3.3 μM. Selectivity for Bax over other anti- and pro-apoptotic proteins. BAM7 selectively induces BAX-mediated apoptosis by triggering a hallmark feature of intracellular BAX activation. BAM7 kills only BAX-containing cell lines, triggering the biochemical and morphological features of BAX-mediated apoptosis.
