Azido-PEG3-phosphonic acid ethyl ester linker contains an azide group and a terminal phosphonic acid ethyl ester. The azide group readily reacts with alkyne, BCN, DBCO through Click Chemistry to yield a stable triazole linkag. After hydrolysis, the ethyl ester can be converted to corresponding phosphonic acid. PEG-phosphate is surface reactive and can be used to modify metal oxide surface such as titanium dioxide, aluminum oxide, and iron oxide. Phosphoric acid group has high binding affinity toward metal oxide surface. Phosphate PEG can also form self-assembly monolayer (SAM) on these surfaces and increases the hydrophilicity of the surfaces.
