Ald-Ph-PEG12-TFP ester contains a benzaldehyde and TFP ester group. The benzaldehyde group readily reacts with primary amines, aminooxy and hydrazide. The TFP ester undergoes amide coupling with amino-bearing molecules. Unlike NHS ester, the TFP ester is less prone to hydrolysis in aqueous media. The hydrophilic PEG chain increases the water solubility of the compound.
