(5,6)-FAM diacetate NHS ester CAS:150347-59-4 is a cell-permeable amine-reactive label for biomolecules emitting in the green spectral range (absorption maximum at ~492 nm, emission maximum at ~517 nm). The molecule is non-fluorescent until the acetate group is cleaved by intracellular esterases, thereby forming a highly fluorescent fluorophore. Due to this feature, the product is used for tracking cells and flow cytometry to assess and study intracellular esterases.
