Dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide CAS:3700-67-2 is a cationic surfactant with a bromide counterion used as an antibacterial agent. This surfactant has been shown to have biological properties in model systems, including optimal concentration and thermal expansion. The surface glycoprotein of Pseudomonas aeruginosa was not affected by this surfactant, but it did appear to bind preferentially to proteins covering S. aureus.
