LysoPC(18:0) CAS:19420-57-6 is a lysophosphorylcholine linked via glycerol to a hydrophobic fatty acid tail (stearic acid). It is a monoglycerophospholipid in which the phosphorylcholine moiety occupies the glycerol substitution site. Lysophosphatidylcholines can have different combinations of fatty acids of different lengths and saturations at the C-1 (sn-1) position. Fatty acids with 16, 18 and 20 carbons are the most common. In particular, LysoPC(18:0) consists of a stearic acid chain at the C-1 position. Stearic acid is partly derived from animal fats, coconut oil and sesame oil.
