Spectrally nearly identical to IRDye 800CW and DyLight 800, APDye 800 is a conceptually novel sterically shielded NIR cyanine heptamethine dye. The dye contains two shielding PEG arms directly on both sides of the heptamethyl fluorochrome, preventing any undesired bimolecular association process, resulting in a significant increase in fluorescence brightness. APDye 800 azide is a water-soluble NIR fluorescent probe ideal for imaging systems with the 800nm channel.
