N-Benzyl-N-bis(PEG3-t-butyl ester) is a benzyl protected PEG linker that contains two PEG3-acid groups. The benzyl protecting group can be easily removed by hydrogenation. The resulting secondary amine can conjugate with molecules with activated esters. The two carboxylic acid groups can undergo sequential amide coupling with primary/secondary amine groups using EDC, DCC or HATU activators. The PEG spacer provides additional water solubility of the compound.
